weather, weather, weather!

well, we were expecting 2-5 inches of snow this weekend. what did we get? practically nothing! fyi, it doesnt snow around here a lot so with 2-5 inches predicted, people were flipping out...it was pretty funny! lol i acutally ended up working on saturday and sunday because we needed a couple more reporters ready to go for the "winter weather."

last night, i did liveshots at the Dean Smith Center where UNC was playing Maryland...it started to snow flurry just as people were coming to the game so we talked with them about the weather and the game and how they wouldnt miss the game for anything. side note, UNC lost by 2! bet that number one spot in the country will be gone when the rankings come out again! anyway, so it flurried for a couple of hours but never even stuck to the ground.

then this morning, my and two other reporters came in at 5 a.m...we were all doing liveshots in different areas of raleigh. i was along I-440 talking about road conditions...and let me tell you, the roads were perfectly clear..no problems! we didnt get the snow we expected and the DOH salted the streets really well so there were really no icy patches...at least on the primary roads. so here's what i did, along with the photographer i was working with...we did liveshotsfor the morning newscasts at 6 am, 6:30 am, 7 am, 7:30 am, 9 am and 9:30 am. basically, i had to figure out different ways to rephrase the same thing 6 times...and when there's really nothing going on, that's not always easy. thankfully, we managed to pull it off and so did the other 2 reporters as well. hey what can you do? the weather doesnt always do what you think it's going to (although i have to say that i do feel bad for all the weather forecasters from all the stations because they all were predicting 2-5 inches and we barely had .5 inches.)

so i didnt really get to do much this weekend since i was working. im going to head to the gym in about an hour and do a little cleaning around here afterwards. sounds like fun, huh? :)
